I f you read the previous report on the word "Vacuum" then please take the frustration that i know you must feel about that spelling and drag it on over to this report!

yeah, this is just uncalled for! The word really sounds nothing at all like how its spelled! I even tried saying it in a few different accents and came up short on all of them. Since when does an "o" sound like an"e", and for the love of Pete how do you get the "r" sound from a letter that does not even sound remotely the close? And the second "o" in the word just happens to be silent? There is no need for it! In fact there is no need for such blatant disregard for common sense! Who does this? Who did this?
My wild guess by the spelling is that the first spelling had something to do with someone who had a high position in a "Colony".
Looks right, for something like that. wait let me go check...
Nope,the term colonel derives from columnella 'small column'. That's Latin.
Well, i'm thinking more and more about starting a lazy protest for words that confuse me or piss me off in some way. It may be the only way to sooth this beast.
I just wish i could figure out who to protest to!
